Leadership

I believe that  holders of public office

should lead by example.

Ellis L. Marples is a United States Army veteran who served in Germany as a nuclear weapons specialist and nuclear weapons instructor during the Vietnam War. He worked for IBM as a Systems Customer Engineer servicing telecommunications computer systems for 19 years before starting his own business. He was a technical consultant and developed and taught video technology seminars for Panasonic in Boston, Secaucus, Atlanta Chicago and Los Angeles. Marples was also the Director of Public Affairs for the New Jersey Wing, Civil Air Patrol where he taught public relations seminars at local, state, regional and national levels. He was the president of his company, Marples Video Productions, Inc., in Pompton Lakes before retiring.

Marples is a member of the Pompton Lakes Chamber of Commerce, Pompton Lakes Crime Watch Program, American Legion and Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 802.  Marples created and maintains a political website, www.EllisMarples.com, at his own expense he uses to keep residents of Pompton Lakes informed on local issues of importance.

In November 2009 he married his best friend Lois and retired in 2010 and moved to Stockholm, NJ to live in the woods surrounded by many of God’s creatures including black bears, deer, foxes and birds of all sorts.
